Recently, I’ve been blogging more about Wedding Professionals I absolutely adore and love. I realized I’m fans of these businesses, follow along their journey on Social Media platforms and work often with most of them. But seldom do I know the back story of their business. So since I’ve been asking questions about other businesses, I thought maybe others wonder the same about me.
How did your business get started? In 2014, I graduated with my Associates in Business, planning to go into bookkeeping. I’ve always had the drive and desire to own my own business but couldn’t seem to find something that fit the logistic side of things and creativity into one career. Months after graduating I helped decorate and set up my cousin’s wedding at Stepping Stones Garden and had an “ah ha” moment. I knew that moment Wedding Planning was my true passion and I needed to pursue it!
How did you come up with your business name?
“Eastwood” is a family business name, so it chose me more then I chose it. My last name is Dutch,”Osterhout”, “Oster” means East and “Hout” means West. I also thought Eastwood Events had a nice ring to it!
What kind of packages do you provide? What are their price ranges?
Our “Day-Of” Coordination package starts at $1,200, which is really the two months out package. Our Partial Planning package starts at $1,600, which we clarify as the hand holding package. Our Full Planning package starts at $2,500, which is starting from the beginning and guiding you throughout the process.
What is a wedding trend that you love and hope sticks around?
I love the trend of Rose Gold Silverware! I practically swoon over anything Rose Gold.
How would you describe your brand in three words?
Outdoor Elements, Classic, Soft.
What is your “Why” behind your business?
There are multiple “whys” for my business. It is fueled by passion for planning and design, which has grown into a love for helping alleviate couples stress on their wedding day. My grand “why” behind running my own business is flexibility. I want to build my work around my life, not the other way around.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Hiking and being in the outdoors! I based my brand of my business on the elements I love and enjoy doing.
